I believe local business, industry, skilled trades, manufacturing where appropriate and other employers should have room to grow. Barrie benefits when residents have access to a wider range of stable employment close to home.
Jobs, Affordability and a Broader Tax Base
I believe employment growth can support household stability and make Barrie’s economy more resilient. Growing the business and employment base alongside the population can also broaden the municipal tax base rather than placing continuous additional pressure on households.
