Stewardship

Barrie must prepare for the future while respecting the people, neighbourhoods and history that have shaped our city.

My Position

What I Believe

Many residents have spent decades building their lives here, raising families, supporting local businesses and contributing to the community Barrie has become. As our city changes, their experience and needs should continue to have an important place in the decisions we make.

To me, good stewardship means caring for Barrie as a community people are proud to call home. It means maintaining established neighbourhoods, protecting the services and public spaces residents value, respecting older residents and considering how today’s choices will affect future generations.

I will approach major decisions by asking whether they strengthen Barrie, respect the community we have built and leave the city better prepared for those who come after us.

That includes maintaining roads, parks, sidewalks, infrastructure and other municipal assets in established neighbourhoods—not only building new ones. Long-term decisions should account for the costs and consequences residents will face years from now.
